Hello 2017

& Other Stories Disco Dress | Marc Fisher Glitter Block-Heels

As I get ready to ring in another year, I can't help but look back and think about all of the incredible blessings that have come my way throughout 2016.

I can finally say that I feel completely settled in NYC.
~I have an incredible support system through my group of friends. (Who honestly feel more like family.)
~I finally re-did my apartment, and have it just how I've wanted it!
~I'm completely confident in navigating the NYC subway system, and have been able to give thorough directions to new comers, and tourists when they're trying to find there way.
~I've found a home in a church that I love.

Aside from New York, I have also felt incredibly happy to have reconnected with friends from years ago. Finding love again. Finding new ways to stay creative. Being able to constantly reinvent myself. And keeping an open heart for new possibilities, and new opportunities to make new friends, try new things, and continue to find myself.

A few New Year's Resolutions for 2017:

1. Stick to my workout routine: {yoga classes, cycling, start running again}
2. Read one to two books every month in the following categories - (Literature, Biographies, History, NY Times Bestsellers, Psychology, Current Events)
3. Meditate daily - practice positive thinking and mindfulness
4. Travel more... High on my list - {Seattle, Nashville, Charleston, anywhere in Europe}
5. Attend a music festival - on my list: ACL, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Governors Ball
6. Do something I haven't done before that I've always wanted to do: go camping  with friends upstate, attend a trapeze class!, take a trip by myself to a city I've never seen)
7. Volunteer at a local shelter
8. Eat healthier - cook at home, have more fruits and veggies, drink more water
9. Spend more time outdoors in one of the many beautiful parks NYC has to offer
10. Practice Self-love: get enough sleep, seek therapy when needed, listen to soothing music, take longer baths, speak daily affirmations to myself

What are some of your New Year's Resolutions for 2017?
Tell me in the comments bellow!!

Midtown Glam

Lucy Paris Sequin Top & Skirt (Similar Style) |

I hope that you had an amazing a fun Christmas filled with lots of love, laughs, and yummy food.

I had so much fun these past two days! Christmas Eve was kicked off with brunch at Public House in Amarillo with N, then a little last minute Christmas shopping. After that, I went to the Christmas Eve church service with my family, dinner at home, and then board games at Nathan's parent's house (which happens to be only a few streets away AND in the same neighborhood as my parent's place!). Then, I headed back over to my house afterwards just in time to open presents at midnight! (My parents grew up with that tradition in Guatemala, and we've kept it going ever since.)

Christmas Day consisted of breakfast at home with the family, some cozy lounging, and after that I got dressed and headed to the movies with Nathan and his family, followed by dinner at his parent's house. Then, N and I came back to my house for mulled wine and card games, and more food! I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas, and loved being able to spend time with Nathan's family and mine together.

As sad as it is to see Christmas go, now we can look forward to another fun celebration... New Year's Eve! It's time to pull out the sequins, glitter, and confetti!

Today's look is all about that sparkle, & the more glitz the better

I'm wearing this glam sequin top & skirt from Lucy Paris (from their F/W 16 collection), with a favorite pair of nude heels.

We shot this look right before I left NYC for the holidays, and everyone that passed us on the streets LOVED the details on this outfit. I can't wait to pull out all the sequins this New Year!

Faux Fur Bomber

Anthropologie Faux Fur Bomber | Anthropologie Annecy Midi Dress |
M.Gemi Boots (Similar Here & Here)

Happy Friday friends!

I landed in Texas on Wednesday, and have been spending the past two days with my family and my sweet love. It's been so nice to be able to be back at home in Amarillo for the Holidays

I'm spending the rest of the evening wrapping some Christmas presents, and then going out to listen to live music with Nathan. I still have lots to finish up before tomorrow, and also have an early morning blog shoot with Chriselda!

I thought I'd share a fun look that Lauren & I shot before I left the city! I'm wearing my new favorite faux fur bomber from Anthro and a fun midi dress (currently on sale!). I've been pairing this bomber with most of my dresses this holiday season, and absolutely love it. It's the perfect piece to throw on over some of my favorites.

I hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend so far!

Flare Sleeves

Chicwish Flare Sleeves Sweater | Forever 21 Denim |
Steve Maden OTK Boots (Similar) | Happiness Boutique Crystal Black Tassel Earrings

Happy Monday!!

I can't believe we're only 6 days away from Christmas!! It's just around the corner!

I finally checked everything off my Christmas list yesterday, and feel so relieved to have everyone's gifts ready. Now... it's time to pack, clean the apt., and get ready to head to Texas this week! I'm so excited to fly back for a little while, and can't wait to be back home.

p.s. - This Chicwish sweater is one of my absolute favorites right now. Not only is it helping me stay warm during these frigid NYC temps, but it's also such a fun and chic option during the holidays. I love how the flare sleeves give a trendy twist to the classic black sweater.

Birthday Girl

Anthropologie Lydia Swing Dress | Marc Fisher Block-Heel Sandals

It's my birthday! So I'm taking the day for myself, and filling it with all of my favorite New York things. Starting with brunch at Claudette with some of my favorite girls, followed by a fun store opening downtown, and then a little bit of shopping at some of my favorite West Village shops! (p.s. - did I mention I woke up to snow?! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday surprise.)

I wanted to share this fun look in one of my absolute favorite Anthropologie dresses. Anthro never gets it wrong with their pieces, but this one is honestly one of the prettiest ones I've ever seen. The beautiful blue and beaded details make it an instant classic, and a dress I'm thrilled to have in my closet.

Wishing you a great day, and lovely weekend!
I'm off to do a little celebrating!
