Purple Florals in Chelsea

Anthropologie Dress | Kenneth Cole Heels

I'm definitely not one to shy away from color, and I love being able to play with shades that I don't normally wear. Purple being one of them!

I spotted this dress at Anthropologie a few weeks back (on sale), and am in love. The beautiful bold purple hues, and floral detailing make it a big contender among some of my favorite dresses in my closet. I paired it with a high pony (sooo excited my hair is growing!), and my favorite nude heels by Kenneth Cole.

I'm planning to add a few more purple pieces to my closet this Fall, and linked a few favorites for you below:

Flower Child

ASOS Dress | Kith&Kin Tote

Most of my friend's have pegged me as the 'flower girl', and this is definitely accurate. (To think I told an ex boyfriend one time that I hated flowers!!) I'm constantly filling my apartment with them, and stopping to take pictures of them as I pass cute bodegas on the street.

I'm sure most girls can share in this common love for flowers, but I feel as though it stems much, much deeper for me. Since I was little, my dad would always plant flowers in our garden and I would help him. He constantly had rose bushes for me (red, pink, and yellow because he knew yellow roses are my favorite.) Still, to this day he has them at our home in Texas. It's so special to have bonded with my dad over our love for flowers and planting, and having spent that time with him watching our gardens grow in each house that we shared as a family.

So, not only are roses and peonies beautiful to look at, but to me they also bring a sense of happiness and peace to the corners of my apartment. This is one of the main reasons why you'll always see fresh blooms in my home if you ever happen to stop by!

10 Favorite Things About Being an Upper East Sider

Every time that I leave the city, whether it's for the weekend, a few hours, or for the day, I always am so excited to return to my little Upper East Side studio. After having explored so many other neighborhoods in the city, I'm so happy to have my own little spot uptown. Perfectly tucked away from the city chaos, and close to some of my best girl friends and favorite restaurants. (Not to mention, the shopping, bakeries, and museums on this side of the city are pretty amazing.)

Below, I'm listing 10 of my favorite things about being an Upper East Sider. The list could go on and on, but I thought I'd narrow it down to some of the best ones!

Top 10 best reasons to being an Upper East Sider:
1.) Easy access to great parks like Carl Schurz ParkCentral Park
2.) Being within walking distance of Laduree
3.Running paths along the East River
4.) Quaint coffee shops to work from: (ex.- Cafe Jax & Bluestone Lane)
5.) Having the Guggenheim MuseumThe Met as neighbors
6.) Living in the same neighborhood as Miss Holly Golightly (+ daydreaming on her stoop)
7.) So many movies and t.v. shows are filmed in the area, and it's so fun to watch
8.) Lots and lots of cute doggies
9.) The best window shopping around (Madison Avenue has my heart)
10.) Glamorous street style that makes for constant style inspiration

If you're planning a trip to NYC or looking to move into the city, I highly recommend spending a little time on the Upper East Side
You may never want to leave!

The Power of Petite

Anthropologie Lyla Tunic | Steve Madden Sandals

One of the major perks of being 5ft nothing means being able to wear almost anything as a dress. And since dresses are basically my favorite thing to wear, it makes me one very happy girl to have this specific skill.

I made the most of my talent when I spotted this tunic at Anthropologie. (It does run long for a tunic so you could definitely pair it with leggings, or wear it as a dress like me!)
{P.S. - I'm wearing a size xs.}

I love the flowy, and sheer fabric and am all about easy to wear pieces that I can throw on before stepping out of my apt. in the morning. (Especially since I'm usually rushing out the door!) I'm definitely planning to wear this for the rest of Summer before the cool temps hit!

Summer White

ZARA Dress | Anthropologie Crossbody
Francesca's Earrings | Kenneth Cole Heels

Another day, another dress!

I picked this one up at ZARA not long ago, and every time I wear it people will stop me as I'm walking and ask me where I found it. It's one of my favorite dresses and the perfect thing to slip into during the hot spells that NYC is currently experiencing.

I'm a huge fan of white, and am planning to incorporate more of it into my wardrobe this fall and winter. (In the form of chunky sweaters & cozy knits!) But for now... I'm making the most of my off-the-shoulder everything before it's too chilly to wear them all!

New York, New York

So, it's slowly getting closer and closer to my 1 Year Anniversary in New York. I honestly can't believe how fast this first year has flown by! It's sooo crazy to think that almost a year ago I was getting ready to move to NYC.
 (Where did the time go?!?)

So in the meantime, before the big day hits... Here are a few quick snaps of my very favorite city, and the place I've chosen to call home.

Floral Lace

ZARA Floral Dress | Kenneth Cole Heels

I'm not one to shy away from two things: florals & lace. And when those two are combined... well... let's just say I make sure that piece comes home with me almost immediately.

I picked up this dress at Zara a few weeks ago, and immediately fell in love. I loved the beautiful floral, lace detailing and soft colors. It's the perfect piece for a fancy night out of dinner and drinks, an evening at the ballet, or a night at the museum.

This dress unfortunately sold out very quickly, but I've searched the web for you, and linked up a few more similar floral lace dresses for you to shop! I'm hoping to add one of them to my closet soon.
