Park Avenue Pink

Chicwish Pink Dress | Steve Madden Heels (Similar)

Happy Thursday friends!

It's almost Friday, and we are getting close to the weekend again! I hope your week has been amazing so far. Mine has been filled with a lot of fun projects, and meeting up with great friends.

This dress though... is a new favorite! I love the pastel pink color, and beautiful off the shoulder detail. Chicwish has always been a constant for me when it comes to chic, one of a kind pieces. Several favorite dresses in my closet are from Chicwish, and they are always the pieces that I receive the most compliments on when wearing! I've linked a few other favorite dresses from Chichwish for you below.~

Floral Shirt Dress

Nasty Gal Draped Jacket (Similar Here & Here) | ZARA Floral Shirt Dress
Steve Madden MulesArmadio Lipsia Crossbody
Daniel Wellington Watch | LOFT Bracelets

Another day another floral print

I picked up this shirt dress at Zara not long ago, and wore it to brunch one Saturday in the West Village. I love being able to throw on easy pieces during the warm months and with it being a bit brisk out still, this has been the perfect go-to dress for casual days in the city. I paired it with a favorite draped jacket from Nasty Gal (similar ones linked above & below), and my favorite pair of mules from Steve Madden

I can't wait to add a few more flowy pieces like this shirt dress to my closet. I definitely will be living in dresses most of this Spring/Summer!

Spring Favorites

Spring is my absolute favorite season! This floral loving gal loves having a good excuse to wear them even more, and this season calls for all the floral prints. Here are a few items that I'm loving for Spring. (Most under $100!!) + a few that I'm currently coveting.

Black & White

Banana Republic Laser-Cut Crepe Tank & White Shorts |
Michael Kors Crossbody Bag | Target Heels (Similar Here & Here)

Happy Monday~

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend! I spent mine with a few close friends since my family is far away in Texas. It was so nice to catch up with some of my favorite people, and celebrate such a special holiday.

On another note, I've been living in easy pieces recently. With warm temps on the rise, I tend to gravitate towards flowy tops, breezy dresses, and relaxed shorts. This look from Banana Republic completely captures what my Spring uniform is going to be this year. I am such a huge fan of brights and fun prints, but I love mixing in classic blacks and whites with a little pop of color. You'll definitely be seeing me in similar looks like this over the next few months.

Spring Culottes + New Hair

Banana Republic Top & Culotte Pants (Similar Here & Here) |
Steve Madden Mules  | Daniel Wellington Watch

Spring is finally here! And with a new season, I decided to go for a new do! I had been wanting to cut my hair for quite some time, but I kept pushing it off and pushing it off. Part of me wanted it long, another part of me wanted it short... Oh decisions, decisions! I finally (with the help of one of my best girl friends) decided to pull the trigger and chop it off!

I'm so happy with the way that it came out. ( If you're in NYC and wanting a new cut, then go see Kelly at Raika Studio in Midtown- he's amazing!!) I think it will be the perfect style for when New York goes from a quick spring to a hot summer. I'm already having so much fun styling it a few different ways, and can't wait to pair it with some fun outfits for this season.

On another note, I'm absolutely loving the cullotte trend for Spring! I've linked a few of my favorites for you below. ~ xoxo

10 Tips for Sleeping Well

1. Take a detox bath - This has been my go-to remedy recently for a good night's sleep. I absolutely love taking baths, and have been using epsom salt lately in most of them. It helps with sore muscles and begins the muscle recovery process after a long day. (Add wine for best results- to drink of course!)

2. Drink your favorite bedtime tea - I'm a sucker for a good cup of chamomile tea with honey. It's so soothing and the perfect drink to de-stress. When looking for teas to help you relax, go for anything with lavender, valerian, peppermint, or rose in the ingredients!

3. Read a good book - I'm always reading a few different books at a time, but before bed I like to ready anything that puts me at ease or brings relaxation- i.e. anything that doesn't make me think too hard since I'm prepping for bed. A few that I'm loving: (Bridget Jones - Mad About the Boy, #girlboss, Captivating, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? )

4. Turn on a relaxing playlist - I'm constantly playing music in my apartment, and I've been gravitating towards several playlists on Spotify. One of my favorite playlists right now is 'The Most Beautiful Songs in the World'. (I actually passed out without meaning to while listening to this the other night!) You can also hit browse and click on the 'Sleep' Section in Spotify for great options!

5. Go to bed at the same time every night - Now I know this can be hard because each day brings different activities and events. (I should know, I live in NYC and when I think I've got my day planned something new always comes up!) It's great to at least try to hop in bed at the same time every night. It sets a routine, and helps you to become accustomed to getting your sleep schedule on track. This goes for waking up at the same time every morning as well!

6. Work it out - Okay, so I'm not one to comment much on this topic simply because I've been so bad at getting myself to the gym recently! But... I will say, that every time I workout in the evenings I ALWAYS sleep better! (My favorite workouts: Yoga, Pilates, Walking/Jogging)

7. Eat a good dinner - I always tend to get so tired after I've had a big meal. Any time that I eat a big lunch, the first thing I want to do afterwards is take a nap! It's no different with dinner! Indulge in a delicious meal, and float your way into some much needed zzzzzzzzzz's.

8. Call a close friend or family member - Sometimes with the craziness that a full day can bring, it's nice to be able to unload with someone who cares about you. I call my mom almost everyday, and tell her everything. Good day or bad, I always feel better once I speak with my mom.

9. Prepare everything for the next day the night before - I rest easy when I know that everything I'll need in the morning is already prepped and ready to go when I wake up. That means all I need to do when my alarm goes off is shower and get myself ready for the day before I step out the door! {Since I prepped the night before!} -- (Prep your lunch, set your coffee machine to brew a pot in the a.m., and plan your outfit the evening before!)

10. Unplug - This is a big one, and can be sooo hard at times. I'm constantly checking through emails, updating things for the blog, texting friends, etc... It's important to put your mind at rest and allow your body to relax before you drift off to sleep. At least 30 min before bedtime, it's great to set your phone, laptop, and any other device aside before you go to sleep. Placing it far from your bed will also help to avoid temptation to reach for it in the middle of the night, and will keep from disrupting your sleep.

Now here's to some great zzzzzzzzzzzz's!

Street Style in SoHo

W by Worth Mesh Sleeveless Shift Dress | Kendra Phillip Bar Necklace

Another day, another dress! And we need to talk about how much I'm loving this mesh shift one from W by Worth. I love the little black slip underneath the edgy and fun mesh material. One of the things that I've loved most about living in New York City has been being able to play with my style, and to try out different looks. This city is definitely one that will help you push all of your style boundaries in the best way possible!

W by Worth has been a favorite of mine since I moved to NYC. Their pieces are so unique, fun, and timeless all wrapped into one. To see more from their latest Spring and Summer collection head to their website here: W by Worth

I also own this Safari Sun Dress, and can't wait to wear it! I'm loving this sleeveless jumpsuit, and this floral appliqué dress as well. Both gorgeous, and perfect for Spring!

Monday Vibes

Happy Monday friends!

I took this weekend easy, and caught up on a few of the projects that I had planned. I can't wait to share a few pictures with you soon of recent updates that have been made to my apartment! I'm really hoping that everything is completed before my family arrives next month!

On another note, I also had a low key weekend due to a minor foot injury. My left foot has been hurting for the past few days now, and I'm having a little bit of trouble walking. I'm hoping the doctor has good news for me tomorrow, so please keep me in your thoughts! (Hoping it's nothing serious.) It's definitely no fun feeling this way in a city like NYC where walking is inevitable!

How was your weekend?
Did you do anything fun?

Wishing you a wonderful evening. xo

Weekend Reading

It's officially the weekend! (Insert dancing red dress emoji here!)

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I have a few little projects that I'm wanting to finish up this weekend around the apartment. They include: mounting a few frames, buying a floor-length mirror, ordering a new bed, and browsing a few of my favorite furniture stores in the village for a bookshelf. My whole family is visiting New York City in April (dad, mom, and brother!), and I'm trying to make the place perfect before they arrive! My dad has never been to NYC, so I'm incredibly excited for him to visit the city, and for me to play tour guide for him! Leaving you with a few links below of things that I came across this week and loved. Hoping that you have a wonderful weekend. ~

Currently reading this & this. (Both so good so far, and Diane's book is amazing!)

Wanting to try out this yoga studio on the Upper East. Have any of you ever done Bikram before, and if so what are your thoughts?

With Spring just around the corner, I've been wanting to wear less makeup, and have been researching tips on products to use for a healthy glow. Loved this article on The Everygirl - 'Eat These Foods for Glowing Skin'.

How adorable is this idea from The Glitter Guide to host an Easter Brunch.

Definitely planning to add this dress to my closet for Spring! (Love white lace.)

Drooling over these dresses for Easter or Spring! {All under $100} : this Salmon colored dress is gorgeous, lace with a hint of denim, & of course a floral option

I'm cooking more and more, and can't wait to try this recipe! (I could eat pasta every day)

Updating my bedding and I'm torn between this, this, this, or this. HELP!!

How gorgeous is this!! Seriously considering ordering it NOW.

We need to talk about these shoes for a minute... So perfect for any outfit this Spring!

Just discovered 'The Newsette' and loving it! A mini-magazine that delivers style tips, Instagram inspiration, and fun pop culture highlights from the week straight to your inbox!

Loving this article from POPSUGAR on 'Tips for a Happy, Healthy Weekend'.

Ready for Spring

Happy Friday!!

I feel as if this week just flew by! As I start to fill my schedule with a few more events, and outings around the city, my weeks seem to be going by so fast. Which is always great, but makes me wonder where my days go?!

Do you have any fun plans for this weekend? I'm hoping to catch up on some much needed rest after a long week, finish a few things around the apartment that I've been meaning to do for a while (mount a few frames, buy a new rug, etc...), and see a few friends as well!

Back to today's look: I wore this dress in SoHo a few days ago when the weather was just right. All of you must know by now how much I love anything and everything floral print, so adding this cute piece to my closet for Spring was a no brainer. (And let's be honest...I never need an excuse for florals!) I wore it with a  favorite pair of strappy sandals (similar here & here), and my trusty MK red, cross-body. I can't wait to start pulling out more looks like this in the weeks to come!
