Saturday in the Village

Forever 21 Dress (in stores-sold out online) &
Sandals (Similar Styles Linked Below)

Happy Tuesday (Monday) friends!

Who's wishing that the long weekend was still here? Raise you're hand if that's you!! I know I would have been completely fine with an extra day or two (or three! Let's be honest.), but at least tomorrow is already Wednesday!

So I've been spending quite a bit of time in the West Village as of late, and while my good friend Chelsea was in town last weekend we seemed to set up camp in the area. We wandered all over the city together, but kept coming back to a few of our favorite spots near Perry Street. From coffee at The Elk (one of my favorite cafes to work from), to bagels at Hudson Bagel, and shopping on Bleecker... it was time very well spent in one of my favorite neighborhoods of NYC.

Cold Shoulder

Zara Off the Shoulder Top | Michael Kors Bag

It's that season ALL New Yorkers have been waiting somewhat patiently for (because Winter didn't seem to get the memo that it wasn't invited to the party), 'off the shoulder season' has commenced! (Insert dancing emoji here- several of them.)

Over the past year, my closet has accumulated quite the collection of off the shoulder tops and dresses. I tend to live in them during the hot months, and they're usually the first piece I gravitate towards if the temps are high. Being from Texas, it can get more than just a little hot so I was always prepared. I've been told that New York summers are quite the scorcher as well, so I'm equally getting ready for my first one in the city.

Here's to many more off the shoulder looks on LM!
I'm sensing that there will be a large amount of them in my future.

Central Park in the Spring

Free People Printed Tunic | Steve Madden Shoes

There's nothing quite like New York in the Spring. Particularly, Central Park. I used to dream of what it might feel like to spend Spring in the city. Countless movies, and books painted a picture in my mind of what New York City might look and feel like during this season. I constantly heard so many things about Spring being one of the most magical and romantic times in NYC (neck and neck with Fall), and was so eager to experience it all for myself.

Being able to spend my very first Spring in the city as a New Yorker has been so surreal and incredible all at the same time. So naturally, I did what I felt would be most fitting in order to celebrate one of my favorite seasons (and my very first one in Manhattan)... threw on a flowy floral dress, grabbed my camera, and headed straight to the park!

Bodega Blooms

Banana Republic Red Dress | Forever 21 Denim Jacket (Similar) |
 Anthropologie Wedges

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said - "Flowers are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty out-values all the utilities of the world." I couldn't agree more Ralph. Simply couldn't agree more! I like to think that maybe this is why I seem to be so addicted to them. (Okay, okay, slightly OBSESSED with them would be more accurate.) I've had so many friends mention to me that based on my Instagram photos, 'It seems as though you really like flowers girl.' Haha! Yes friends, yes I definitely do.

Moving to New York has been this flower girl's dream come true. Being able to walk around every corner, and see a new beautiful bodega is a feast for my eyes! My weekends as of late have consisted of Sunday flower runs to prep for the week ahead, and my local bodega  on the Upper East Side already knows my name. I feel as if they even know my usual 'flower order'! White roses to be exact.

Here's to many more Sundays spent shopping for blooms in the city. ~

Something happened this year that instantly made me one of the happiest girls in Manhattan (at least that's how it felt!). Since I started this site a few years ago, I always dreamed of where this little blog of mine would take me. I never would have imagined it would have led me to New York City, let alone to be invited to Diane von Furstenberg's flagship store in Meatpacking. It was definitely one of those pinch me moments that brought out all of the crazy thoughts like, "Me? Okay wait, are you sure you have the right girl?"

I dreamed of a moment like this, but never ever thought it would come about so quickly upon moving here. Diane has been one of my biggest style icons for as long as I can remember. Not to mention, someone that I've admired and looked up to for years! She is the true definition of a 'girl boss' in my book.

I can't even explain what feelings were going through me while I left the Upper East Side that day in a cab and en route to her studio. My heart was honestly in my throat it seemed like. I met with Chantal, one of DVF's reprensatives and fellow DVF girl, and she walked me through the entire Spring Collection. Playing dress up, and spending time around Diane's  beautiful creations was simply incredible.

I didn't think it would get any better, until it DID. I was dubbed an official DVF Girl, and will be able to work more closely with the brand this year. This has by far been the biggest highlight of all my years of blogging (and quite possibly my life!). I feel so honored to have been chosen by Diane and her team to represent the brand, and am so thrilled to see this new collaboration blossom.

Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would find myself with this opportunity. Opening my heart and stepping out on a limb to be in New York has been the biggest blessing and best decision I could have ever made, but (also the scariest!) I am so happy that I took that massive leap of faith to be here. I couldn't picture my life without this city, and being able to work on LM here has been the most amazing blessing.

Always remember, that no matter how big or difficult to reach your dreams may seem, it's important to never ever ever ever give up! (BIG emphasis on EVER) Anything is possible with a little bit of faith and hard work. xx

A huge thank you to Diane and her team for having me, and to my wonderful photographer and best (Miryam Gabrielle) for capturing every moment of this unforgettable day.
