I love wearing bright colors during the summertime, and with the end of the season fast approaching, I've definitely been making the most of incorporating fun and bold pieces into my wardrobe! This colorful picnic romper from Shopbop is one of my absolute favorites in my closet right now. The pretty overlay detailing as well as the colorful print, makes it such a fun option for a day spent outside with friends. You can never go wrong with a cute romper in this heat!

Weekend Casual

Romwe Dress // Converse Shoes // Botkier Bag

I love staying as casual as possible during the weekends. Apart from the occasional night out with the girls, or dinner with my love... you will definitely catch me in comfy basics and easy dresses. I paired this cutie dress from Romwe (only $13!!!),with a favorite pair of sneakers for a laid back look to take me into the weekend. Nothing says laid back weekend style like adding a pair of sneakers into the mix. It's my favorite way of giving a cute dress more of a casual feel.

Thank you to Romwe for sponsoring this post!

Apartment Decor

White Space

So... I'm moving into my new place next week friends!! I can hardly believe that I'm about to be a New Yorker soon! It honestly still feels so surreal, and I don't think that it will hit me until I arrive. I've been doing so much research recently as to what I want the look and feel of my place to be. I can't wait to decorate my new and very first apartment in the city! I've already started to order a few pieces of furniture and am getting more pieces while in NYC. Thankfully, I have Pinterest to help me out with a bit of the planning! I can't wait to see how it all comes together, and am so excited to show you pictures once it's all finished! Stay tuned...

Boho Shift Dress

Chicwish Boho Stich Shift Dress // Nasty Gal Hat (Similar) //
FRAU Shoes 'Azzura'

I hope you're having a lovely week so far loves! It's been quite a busy one for me so far, and has been sad as well with having to say goodbye to a few friends here in Texas already. The time for the move is drawing near and things have been a bit crazy, so I apologize for the silence over here recently.

With the errands and planning I've been doing recently, I have once again gravitated towards easy dresses that I can quickly throw on before I head out the door! I've definitely been making the most of these last weeks of Summer as well, because I know I won't be able to wear dresses that much longer! This boho shift dress from Chicwish is one of my absolute favorites. I love the navy color and pretty detailing. P.S.- It's going fast friends so make sure to snatch one up before they're gone!

Adventure

I would like to think that I'm no stranger to adventure. Since I was a little girl, I've always longed to explore and to be part of an amazing story and incredible adventure. I think adventure is instilled in each of us. That longing for the unknown, and excitement for something new that is completely out of our comfort zone. I've always wanted to see the world, and to be exposed to amazing cities and cultures. I've been traveling overseas for as long as I can remember. With my parents being from Guatemala in Central America, we would always go there to visit family and to spend time in the city where they grew up. I went to Italy my Junior year in High School, and visited France and England when I graduated. I took at trip to Poland with classmates in college during my Freshman year, and visited England again throughout college after meeting my British Half Ben. After college I explored Iceland while my love played professional soccer there. I've always had a passion for traveling and visiting new countries. I get such a thrill from being able to visit places that I've always dreamed of seeing, and getting to immerse myself into a new culture.

As I prepare for this move to New York City, I keep thinking about how adventure truly is worthwhile. I would by lying if I said I wasn't nervous. Part of me is jumping up and down with excitement, and the other part of me is slightly terrified. I've lived in Iceland for crying out loud! Why am I scared about my New York adventure? With every great adventure comes a little bit of hesitation beforehand. Will this work out? Will I be okay? What if I hate it? That's the beauty behind adventure. Going outside of our comfort zone, and learning a little more about ourselves in the process. Adventure helps us to grow, and helps us to truly expand our horizons. It exposes us to new things, and awakens something in us that no other experience can. I am beyond excited for this new chapter in my life, and can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Am I nervous? DEFINITELY. Am I excited? More than you can imagine! My last weekend in Texas will be bittersweet, but I'm more than ready to say hello again to New York. xo

Gingham & Lace

ASOS Jeweled Sandals // Anthropologie Clutch

I've been trying to branch out recently from my usual Summer dresses, and have been adding in a few fun shorts to the mix. It's always great to have options when it's hot out. Especially pieces that will keep you nice and cool. I paired this adorable gingham top with a casual pair of lace shorts last weekend to grab coffee and catch up with one of my best girl friends. I love shorts that aren't your basic denim or solid color. It's fun to have a cute printed option, and in this case this darling lace one was perfect to add to my wardrobe for a sweet change. I'm definitely planning to wear more shorts this season before the temps start to cool down, and can't wait to mix and match them with my favorite tops.

New York, New York

View from the Brooklyn Bridge.
Exploring the Upper West Side!
Brunching at Claudette.
Breakfast in the West Village.
The best Belgian waffle & iced vanilla latte EVER from Le Pain Quotidien.
My new home in the West Village! (I wish)
Flower Stop
The perfect bag for a busy week in the city.
Morning ferry ride with a beautiful view of Manhattan.

Our time in New York was so much fun. This trip was all about sight-seeing, apartment hunting, and getting to know my new home a little bit better. I flew over to the city with my mom (my dad unfortunately had to work ), and my little brother met us there as well since he was already in New Jersey for a work trip! We had an absolute blast exploring the city and seeing all of the sights. We walked all over New York, and I honestly feel that I still have sooo much more of the city to explore still when I get back next week!

From Central Park and the West Village, to the new Freedom Tower and the Statue of Liberty. We saw it all! It truly was such a wonderful trip, and I'm so happy that I was able to share it with my family. I can't wait to call New York City home, and to be able to explore and experience so much more in this gorgeous city.

Crocheted Lace Dress

Chicwish Lace Dolly Dress // Old Navy Ballet Flats // Michael Kors Crossbody

Happy Monday!

I'm ready to take on a new week and start checking things off my to-do list! Did you do anything fun this weekend? I finally managed to start packing a bit for the move next week, and was actually able to get some pool time in as well! This girl needs a tan ASAP...Especially before the Summer is over!

This dress is one of those dresses that when it arrives on your doorstep, you simply can't believe how gorgeous it is! I wore it will in New York and received so many compliments. The detailing is so stunning and pictures simply don't do it justice! I paired it with a pair of comfy ballet flats from Old Navy for all of the walking around the city, and my new favorite Michael Kors Crossbody. I had such a hard time trying to decide which color to get in the MK bag, but opted for a classic black to pair with several pieces in my closet.

Wishing you a wonderful Monday~
