Back To Basics

Target striped dress // Express blazer // Primark booties
// Michael Kors watch // Vintage earrings

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and that your week is off to a fabulous start! I had a very laid back weekend (watching reality t.v. and reading my favorite blogs to be exact), which was nice since Ben and I were a little bit tired from visiting a lot of different places around his hometown last week. I have also been counting down the days recently since my dad mentioned he was going to ship something to me from America. I'm expecting a fun package on Wednesday that's coming all the way from my house in Texas! I'll be posting a picture on my Instagram as soon as I receive it. I'm so excited!

Spring Mix

With spring comes lovely pastels, bright colors, fun prints, and cute details. I've put together a little wishlist of things that I am currently drooling over and hoping to add to my closet soon. From fun fringe sandals to the perfect coral pink lip color. I can't wait to do a little bit of spring cleaning in my closet so that I can add some fun new pieces.

Leather Peplum

Express (minus the leather) peplum top // Target jeans(similar) //
Forever 21 necklace // Boutique bracelet // Charlotte Russe booties

It's safe to say that I absolutely love peplum. If you look in my closet, you'll see several different styles and colors of this adorable trend ranging from skirts to dresses to tops, and one of my favorite items of clothing is this top featured above. Before leaving for England, I spotted it at Express and knew I had to have it. It's perfect for a night out or for a fun daytime outfit if you're looking to add a little edge to your look. Unfortunately Express has already sold out of this top, but don't worry! The good news is, you can find a similar one here, here, and here.

See what I'm up to throughout the week. You can follow along through: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter xo

Five Things About Me

A few weeks ago, I was tagged by Myrna to share 5 things about myself that you probably don't know through reading my blog. So here they are! I hope you guys enjoy! :

1. I am somewhat ocd about certain things. My closet always has to be color coordinated and everything MUST be organized. I can get grumpy when things are messy and not in order, and my fiance Ben is the complete opposite of me! (go figure) It tends to balance things out though. He has helped me be more laid back when  it comes to some things...but not everything.

2. I played basketball throughout junior high and high school, and even before then! My brother and dad LOVE basketball and we would all play together from the time I was really young. I even made it to the Varsity team when I was a junior in high school and managed to teach my English fiance a thing or two about the sport when we met in college. Since my family is from Cali, the only basketball team you'll see us cheering for is the Lakers!

3. When I was a freshman in college I entered a contest to win a trip to Poland and visit the concentration camps. We were instructed to read the book 'Night' by Elie Wiesel and write an essay over what it meant to us. I turned the essay into my English professor without really thinking anything would come of it, and a few weeks later I found out that I won the contest! I along with 19 other students in my freshman class whose essays were also chosen, were given the opportunity to travel to Poland. I was also the only one out of my group chosen to write articles for our local Newspaper while we were there and talk about our experiences abroad. It was such an amazing experience and one that I hold very near and dear to my heart.

4. The 5 year old in me comes out every now and then. I'm still quite afraid of the dark and absolutely hate sleeping without a tiny little light. When I was living at home with my parents I used to turn on every light in the house if I was alone at night. My dad wasn't too pleased with me when he would see the electricity bill at the end of the month.

5. Number 5 might be the reason for number 4, but I love watching crime shows. My mom and I used to watch marathons of crime shows on court t.v. whenever we had free time over the weekends. It sounds a bit morbid, but they were really quite interesting. Ben hates that I watch them though and thinks I should only watch pretty and girly things like 'Sex and The City' and 'Bridgette Jones' Diary'.

Daytime Sparkle

Victoria's Secret PINK t-shirt // Forever 21 sequin skirt and boots //
 Random boutique bracelets

Who says that sequins are only for the night time? I pulled out this lovely sequin skirt to wear today(it wasn't getting that much love being tucked away in my closet) for a day out with Ben. Normally, I would wear this for a night out paired with a cute tank or silk blouse, but a sequin skirt can easily be transitioned into a casual daytime look as well. Pairing it with a simple tee and cute ankle boots can turn your' girl's night' skirt into a fun new look for a day of shopping with friends.

Gingham and Crocheted Lace

Old Navy gingham top(similar) and leopard flats(similar) //
Express crocheted lace shorts and gold chain necklace // Michael Kors bag //

Hello Lovlies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and that your Monday is off to a great start!

Ben and I have had such a nice day so far. He got in from training at around 1:00 and we had a quick bite to eat, packed up some drinks, grabbed his adorable dog Skip, and ran out the door for an afternoon at the park. Despite it being a little windy out today, the sun was still shining and it wasn't cold so I was very excited about that! We're also off to see The Host in a little bit, which I have been looking forward to seeing since starting the book. I hope it's good!

Chilly Days

Target turtleneck // Forever 21 skirt and necklace // Old Navy flats

With the weather still being quite chilly here in England, I normally throw a sweater or long sleeve top on if I decide to wear a dress or long skirt. It allows me to wear a spring staple without completely freezing throughout the day. You can also switch up a pretty spring dress during those chilly mornings by pairing a cute cardigan with it or a slouchy cable knit sweater. It will definitely help to keep you warm when you step out for the early morning coffee runs and trips to the store.

Have a wonderful weekend!~

Blue Scallop

T.J. Maxx scallop top(similar) // Victoria's Secret striped cardigan(old) //
Target jeans and leopard heels(similar) // Express necklace(old)

Today, Ben took me for a day out in a lovely little town called Yarm. The weather was perfect for us to stroll through the pretty cobbled streets and enjoy browsing the quaint boutiques and coffee shops. Since it was such a beautiful day outside, I decided to wear something light and comfortable. I paired this adorable blue scallop top with a simple gray and white striped cardi. (Unfortunately I had to keep the cardi on for most of the day.) I can't wait for it to be red hot in England so that I can start working on my tan! Hopefully in a few weeks!

Lace Detail

Express top(similar),  high-waist skirt(neon berry), and clutch(old) //
Steve Madden heels // Francesca's earrings

I love wearing delicate and girly tops year round, and during the spring it's so fun to mix up my normal go to outfit by adding a 'pop of color'. When I saw this adorable hot pink skirt at Express, I knew I needed it in my closet ASAP. Not only is it a gorgeous berry pink color, but the high-waist detail makes it such a fun and feminine piece for any girly girl's wardrobe. Grab one while you can!

Mixing Prints: (Florals+Leopard)

Express leopard print cardigan(similar) and bracelet // T.J. Maxx floral top //
Just USA jeans // Charlotte Russe heels

It's no surprise that I love leopard prints, and mixing them with florals is another one of my favorite pairings. Since leopard and florals are both bold prints, it's important to keep the rest of the look simple and clean. I decided to keep the accessories to a minimum and made a neutral statement with my shoes by finishing the look off with a pair of pastel pink heels. I'm absolutely loving all of the fun prints that are coming out right now for spring, and can't wait to show you more cute pairings!

Happy Friday dolls! Have a lovely weekend.~

Mixing Prints: (Florals+Stripes)

Express striped top(similar) // Forever 21 skirt(old) //
Charlotte Russe mint heels(similar) // Target necklace(different color// Michael Kors bag

Mixing patterns and prints is so refreshing and fun for spring, and one of my favorite prints to work with during the warm weather months is a cute and fun floral print.  I decided to pair this colorful skirt from Forever 21 with a basic black and white striped top. I think many of you can agree with me when I say, that stripes are a classic staple in most fashionista's closets. They can easily be combined with so many different patterns and look especially gorgeous when paired with a summery floral. I love this look simply because it's such an effortless way to make a chic statement. Perfect for those days spent walking around the farmer's market or grabbing coffee with friends.

Wedding Attire

New Look crochet neck dress and quilted shell envelope clutch //
Charlotte Russe heels (similar) // Forever 21 bracelet

Happy Tuesday fashionistas!

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter!

This was my first Easter in England and I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating it. I had such a lovely time being with Ben's family over the holiday weekend. We ate lots of yummy food, watched some of our favorite shows on tv, and indulged in loads of Easter chocolates! We also got all dolled up for a very special event. This past Saturday we attended Ben's brother's wedding (my soon-to-be brother in law!) and had such a great time. The evening was filled with good drinks, delicious food, and great laughs. I wore this gorgeous dress from New Look that day and mixed it with some pale pink heels and a cute envelope clutch (also from New Look). I absolutely loved the detailing of the crochet neck on this dress as soon as I saw it. I received so many compliments when I wore it and definitely recommend that you snatch one up before they're all gone! You won't regret it!
