Beach Bum

(Suit linked below!)

Wearing: Kingdom & State Floral Bombshell Top & Bottom

As a born California girl, it's always been hard for me to turn down a trip to the beach. Visits to the beach will always feel a little bit nostalgic and like home to me. Even though I grew up mostly in Texas, my  summers were filled with trips to California to visit family, spending time at a few of our favorite beaches like Laguna and Newport, and catching some of that summer sun. Beach days were always one of my favorite parts about growing up, and I'm so happy that I was able to enjoy those fun times with my family.

And a few weekends ago over the 4th of July holiday, one of my best girlfriends and I found ourselves with no plans that Saturday. So naturally, we decided to book a train ticket to the beach! (Floppy hats and wine in tow!) We needed to see what all the fuss was about with these East Coast beaches after all, and it definitely did not disappoint. It was such a fun day filled with drinks, girl talk, and some much needed sun bathing. I can't wait to take another trip to the beach soon!

What are a few of your favorite things about 'beach days', and are you planning to head to any new ones this year? Leave me a comment in the section below! xoxo

Angie's List

Last week I was able to do a walk through of a newly renovated and stunning townhouse in the West Village for a fun event with Angie's List. To say that there was a huge case of apartment envy would be a big understatement. Each room from the kitchen to the living room, and bedroom were gorgeously decorated and set up so beautifully.

I absolutely loved having the chance to see a beautiful home in my favorite area of New York City, and definitely gathered a few decor tips along the way!

Both Scott Durchslag
(CEO) and Angie Hicks (Founder) made it official in mentioning at the event that they will be "removing the the ratings and reviews pay-wall and enabling consumers to access this service for free." This comes as fantastic news! They will now offer free access to its selection of business reviews and ratings for anyone looking for a little home help.

Once signing up with Angie's list there are a few new membership levels (Green, Silver, and Gold) that you are able to choose from. Below is a basic overview:

Green: Free of charge & access to companies in more than 700 service categories
Silver: Green features, + exclusive discounts, and bi-monthly magazine
Gold: All green and silver features, + complaint resolution process and customer support via phone

Having moved to NYC last year, it has been incredibly beneficial to have a site like Angie's list when it's comes to navigating through a new city. They work as the go-between to help ensure that managing my home life runs smoothly, and that makes this girl very happy. I definitely plan on using Angie's list in the future, with everything from house cleaning to pet care! (When I decide to make a little addition to my upper east side studio.)

Military Green

W by Worth Dress | Lulu*s Top (Similar) | Francesca's Shoes |
Daniel Wellington Watch

W by Worth has been a constant style staple in my wardrobe since I moved to NYC last Summer. Their pieces are so elegant and classic, as well as trendy and unique.

I paired this fun army green, safari style dress with a favorite off the shoulder top and nude heels for a chic daytime look. One of my favorite parts about living in the city, is being able to stay creative with my style. I'm constantly surrounded by people that are truly embracing their own unique and individual style, and it's so inspiring to me. I love playing with different looks, and wearing colors that I wouldn't typically wear. (Fun Fact: I've aways been afraid to wear green most of my life!) Being in New York City has helped me to embrace other looks, and play around a bit more with what makes my style unique and personal to me.

I definitely encourage you to try and do the same as well! Whether you live in a big city or smaller town, it's fun to try out different looks, and wear different colors to see what you feel most comfortable in, and what speaks to your personal style the most. At the end of the day, it's all about feeling your best, and embracing and loving your individuality.
